Never Knew I Could Cook

if you somehow found your way here, hello!

about me

God has called me to be a mum of three and cooking used to be an uphill struggle for me. I wished I had clear and simple recipes to get me started, with uncomplicated ingredients that could be readily delivered.
by God's grace I think He has helped me so I can feed my children. in the course of these few years, I slowly picked up the nuances of cooking and can finally understand what my mother means when she gives her "agak agak" instructions.

this little corner is my record of memories, helpful ingredients and fuss-free recipes that God-willing, can be a blessing. these recipes are largely already in my notes app, and in sharing, if it can help someone else, I don't see why not.

side note: im an (accidental) TM advisor. if you want to know more, drop me a DM ðŸ˜Š

cooking philosophy

experiencing in recent times how food can be a ministry and a blessing has helped me to see food in a new light. food doesn't need to be exotic or expensive, but when cooked from the heart, prayfully, with healthy wholesome ingredients, it can be used by God to nourish and extend hospitality.

as a SAHM, time is precious 😅 I depend heavily on frozen liquid stock and prefer to avoid using additives, msg (e.g. stock cubes) as much as possible. I sometimes omit salt from the recipes here too. these recipes are inspired by my mother's cooking style and planned to be as efficient, but healthily tasty as possible 🤭
p.s. cooking comes with alot of permutations and what tastes nice to one may not appeal to another. you are encouraged to explore and exercise flexibility in trying out new recipes. For example, add seasoning according to your preference, or adjust cooking times for desired textures. the more we experiment, the more we know what works to our taste! happy cooking!
